Kim was raised in Pennsylvania, but has lived almost half her life in West Virginia. She graduated from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Science, and then spent 3 years as a Physician Assistant in the United States Air Force. She has since worked in family practice and urgent care settings.
Kim and her husband, Jeff, a native West Virginian, have 9 children. Yep, 9, all theirs, no multiples, 6 boys and 3 girls ranging in ages from 6 to 28 years old! It was while breastfeeding her first child that Kim developed a love for supporting breastfeeding families. She calls this part of her work "the icing on the cake." Along the way, she became a board certified Lactation Consultant.
